Change to plans

After sitting in the Immigration office waiting room for 2 days, and calling everyone we could think of, including the office of congressman Kurt Schrader. We were unable to obtain the stamp allowing Stella to travel for 60 days in her Visa. We ran out of time. We've waded through telephone calls with the booking agency to find out if flights can be cancelled, or changed, and at what it cost. Our ultimate conclusion was that it was cheaper to cancel Stella's flight, and keep mine active. I will be flying out on Monday morning, and Stella will be waiting to receive her stamp.

Its a letdown for sure. We obviously would prefer to go together. Seems that opposition always comes when you are doing missions, or anything for the Lord. Though Stella and I will not be traveling together this time, we know that God must have great things coming during our time at festival. Why else would the devil try so hard to keep us from going? Seems like a very logical reason to me.

She will stay back here in Portland, until we are notified of the receipt number from USCIS. She will then book the flight and come as soon as possible.

When we explored changing the flights, or cancelling, we found that the most savings were in retaining my flight and cancelling Stellas. We were only able to retain 40% of Stella's original flight cost. I suppose that is the nature of the beast when it comes to booking the cheapest flights possible; its where the small booking agencies make their money.

Booking a new flight at short notice costs more of course, and not knowing how this was going to be covered, there was an offering taken at church specifically for this need, which covers what we expect the flight to cost. It is an incredible blessing that we are so appreciative for. Thank you Lord!

  1. Hi Adam, I'm so sorry to hear the government has put another roadblock in your way! If anyone can see their way through this it's you and Stella! Godspeed and let us know if we can help!
